About this event
Outdoor meeting at Militia Hill Pavilion MHL-3, Fort Washington State Park. Directions: Enter the Militia Hill Day Use Area from Militia Hill Road, Joshua Road, or Skippack Pike. Follow signs to "Pavilions." Park in Lot #3. The pavilion building is labeled "L-3" but is shown as "MHL-3" on the map.
Open to all DVAA members and the public. New DVAA members are especially encouraged to attend. Registration is recommended, so we know how much food to order.
Picnic beginning at 5:30pm. After dinner we will divide into teams for astronomy quizzo (with prizes)! Food and trivia game will happen rain or shine, under the pavilion.
Weather permitting, observing on the field adjacent to the pavilion will take place 7:30-10:00pm. If you would like some personalized help with your telescope, bring it to the event and there will be experienced members who can help you observe successfully.
