About this event
A Messier Marathon is an all-night astronomical observing challenge, usually held in March or early April, where participants attempt to locate as many of the 110 deep-sky objects in the Messier catalogue as possible in a single night.
Members and their guests, Volunteers, Amateurs (from any astronomy group or society, and those interested in membership) are welcome to set up their own personal gear to conduct a personal Messier Marathon from the amphitheater of the Ryan Observatory.
This opportunity provides a secure dark sky location. We can accommodate those wishing to observing through the entire night (conducting their Marathon) with parking at observatory.
