Are you confused by the various types of telescopes available? Do you get brain cramps and cross-eyed when you see the phrases “focal length” or “focal ratio”? Not to fear! During this session you will learn the differences between a refractor and a reflector telescope and will be able to calculate the magnifications of each with different eyepieces. You will also learn and understand why images are reversed when looking through either type of telescope. During the hands-on portion of this session, you will become comfortable with moving a telescope to a target with the aid of a red dot finder and adjusting the focus. See one, do one, teach one will be the mantra!

Note:  This members-only event requires pre-registration, and will run only if at least 5 members register.  Click the REGISTRATION button above to register.   In the case of inclement weather on Feb. 1st, the session will be conducted Feb. 2nd at the same time.
