Understanding Planispheres, Star Atlases, and Astronomy Apps will enhance your observing experience as you learn to locate celestial objects.   This session is primarily directed toward newer observers, but will be of interest also to anyone who already uses the more traditional planispheres and star atlases, but would like to make better use of GPS-based astronomy apps (especially SkySafari) for smart phones and tablets.

If you have a planisphere or star atlas, bring it to the session.   Also bring your smart phone or tablet.   It would also be helpful to download the app "SkySafari" prior to the workshop, and try using it on your own prior to the workshop so that you can bring lots of questions to the session.

Note:  This members-only event requires advance registration, and will run only if at least 5 members register.  Click the REGISTRATION button above to register.   In the case of inclement weather on Feb. 15th, the session will be rescheduled.
