DVAA Virtual Meeting - April 3, 2020 at 7:30 PM "A Beginner’s Guide to Astrophotography," by DVAA Members Lou Varvarezis and Irv Schlanger "Wide Field Astrophotography" Irv Schlanger will give a short presentation on how to take single exposure photographs of the Milky Way, using common equipment you may already own. Topics include; cameras, exposure time, f stops, ISO, simple polar alignment, light painting, and composition. "Deep Sky Astrophotography" Lou Varvarezis will focus on deep sky astrophotography, specifically the equipment, challenges, and techniques necessary for acquiring good data. If the sky is clear he will give a live demonstration from Candlewyck Observato-ry at his home to anyone interested. This will include a demonstration of the software used, how to choose and frame targets, how to acquire and maintain focus, guiding, dithering, and solving any odd problems that pop up.
