Upcoming January 2021 meeting of the Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers, Friday, January 22. The meeting will be conducted online starting at 7:30 PM (opening up at 7 PM for informal discussions).
Our invited speaker will be NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador John Conrad (who you may remember from several excellent presentations in recent years):
His topic will be "NASA's Infrared Platforms."
John will tell us about what we can learn from infrared astronomy, and discuss current and upcoming infrared telescopes in the air and in space, including SOFIA, Spitzer, Hubble, and the James Webb Space Telescope.
John shared with me a recent 6-minute video which you may find of interest and provides some background for his talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfWYXY85mBk
